NDP MP Not Pleased with Kyoto Decision

Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Bruce Hyer is less than thrilled with the Federal Government’s decision to pull out of the Kyoto protocol.
The announcement was made Monday at an environmental conference in South Africa.
Hyer says Canada used to be known for its diplomacy, progressiveness and ability to reach compromises.
The NDP member notes now we are considered a “climate change and foreign police dinosaur.”
Hyer says the Prime Minister and Environment Minister have shown repeatedly that they work for “big oil”.
He stresses the decision is bad for the climate, the world and our credibility.
