NDP Says The Feds Aren’t Looking Out For The North

The NDP is accusing the federal government of abandoning northern Ontario.
MP Glenn Thibeault points to the cut in FedNor’s budget while at the same time increasing funding for an economic development agency in southern Ontario.
He says Northern Ontario once again got snubbed, and wants to know when the Conservatives stop playing favourites and recognize the economic challenges being faced by communities.
MP Charlie Angus says the government has abandoned the Experimental Lakes, they walked on the James Bay Port authority and have left the Nishnawbe-Aski Police without the support they need.
The NDP say the only reference to northern Ontario comes in a passing reference in a section related to economic development in southern Ontario.
