NDP Stop the Sell-Out Tour

The NDP ‘Stop the Sell-Out’ forestry tour made a stop in Thunder Bay
Monday to press both levels of Government to provide concrete support
for the industry in Northern Ontario.
MP Charlie Angus says the softwood lumber deal combined with the hydro
policies of Premier McGuinty have left forest companies in economic crisis.
The same day Premier McGuinty announced his rebate program, Bowater
in Thunder Bay announced plans of major restructuring that could lead to
more job losses.
Angus adds the Province’s mind-set that Northern communities have
gotten off relatively scott-free is an insult to all laid-off workers.
