Nelson Granite Cleared

An Ontario court judge has dismissed the 6-year-old prosecution of
Nelson Granite in Vermilion Bay.
The Company had been charged under the Occupational Health and Safety
Act for an incident in 2001.
Nelson Franite spent the next few years fighting the charge in court.
Justice Rod xlarke ruled that to allow the prosecution of the company
to continue would be “abusive of the court’s process”.
Clarke was also critical of a retired Justice of the Peace who handled
the case and the judicial system in general.
