New Beginnings in Northeastern Forests

Trees aren’t going to be the only thing growing up north.
The Nawiinnginokiima Forest Management Corporation is set to re-energize the forestry industry by creating jobs and boosting the economy.
They will manage Nagagami Forest, White River Forest, Big Pic Forest, Black River Forest and the Pic River Ojibway Forest.
With this new model, they will over see the sale of timber along the Northeast shore of Lake Superior.
One of the main goals is to make it easier for entrepreneurs, first nations and communities to get into the industry.
The corporation will be in full operation by Spring 2013.
