The life experiences of area Indigenous people is the subject of a book being distributed by the Seven Generations Education Institute
‘Life is Not Easy: Laughter Means Survival’ was created for Anishinaabemowin learners.
Executive Director Brent Tookaney says some of the stories are heart wrenching and sad, while others are funny or share teaching experiences.
The book has been distributed for free to those living in the 28 First Nations Communities in Treaty 3 territory.
Tookaney says the book, written in both in English and Native language, is also being used as a teaching resource.
He adds they enlisted SayItFirst founder Mike Parkhill to author it.
