The Kenora Catholic District School Board, which oversees operations at St. John’s in Red Lake, has its man.
Trustees have hired Dr. Derek Haime as their new Director of Education to replace Phylis Eikre, who is retiring in the new year.
Haime is currently an Education Officer in the Ottawa region with the Ministry of Education, but has also worked as a Superintendent of Education with the Waterloo Catholic School Board.
In his 25 year career, Dr. Haime has also been a principal and vice-principal with the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
His first official day on the job will be February 1st.
