New Chief for Treaty Three

Diane Kelly of Onigaming First Nation near Fort Frances is the new Chief of Grand Council Treaty #3.
Kelly is a law school graduate and becomes the first woman Chief in the history of Treaty #3.
Incumbent Arnold Gardner was nominated for a second term in office, but was knocked out in the election process.
Other nominees were National Assembly Chair Larry Jourdain, Gary Allen and former Grand Chief Francies Kavanaugh.
