The newly formed Dryden Trailblazer Tourism Association is already hard at work looking at ways to boost tourism in the area.
The committee is tasked with distributing 50% of the local 4% hotel accommodation tax.
Member Michael Readman says they’ve been meeting now for roughly four months.
“We’re currently working on a Dryden Tourism app. Our real focus is to better the City of Dryden and things related to tourism, infrastructure, shopping, recreational activities. We really want to make Dryden a drawing point.
Readman says they want to tie in together all of the excellent items we already have for tourists to enjoy.
Readman is the general manager of the Best Western Plus, and he understands the importance of their work.
“I’m very familiar with all the excellent things that we have to offer as a City and we’re excited that there is going to be a group focusing on actually showcasing Dryden and working to draw people to the community.”
He notes, “Anytime you bring people to the community you definitely benefit from the tourism dollars, the hotel stays, gas, recreational, shopping. So, I think it’s a big win for any of the businesses in Dryden and definitely lot’s to look forward to.”
