New Contracts For Teachers And Education Staff

Looks like the governing Liberals will impose new contracts on public school teachers and education staff in Ontario. The announcement was made this morning by Education Minister Laurel Broten.
She says she will use bill 115 to impose the agreements, which will freeze wages and stop strikes.
However, Broten says once the contracts are imposed, the
government will move to repeal the controversial law.
Teachers and staff were given till December 31 to reach agreements with local schools boards, but that failed to come through.
All new contracts are retroactive to Sept. 1, 2012 and will expire on Aug. 31, 2014.
