New date for Berens River Bridge groundbreaking

A new date has been set for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Berens River Bridge to Pikangikum.

It will be held on August 26th.

It was initially supposed to take place on June 3rd, but was cancelled due to a death in the community.

The groundbreaking will take place at the bridge site, about 100 kilometers north of Red Lake.

The bridge will allow for a year round road to Pikagikum and lay the foundation for other all season roads to First Nation communities to the north.
