The City of Dryden has increased fines for animal control violations.
A number of fees have jumped from $60 to $105 for such offences as failing to license a dog and allowing a dog to run at large.
Police Chief Doug Palson says the changes follow a comprehensive review.
Palson says the old fines were outdated and they took a look at rates in other regional communities and discovered they were considerably lower.
Impound boarding fees for dogs and cats are now $20 per day.
Cody Fedorchuk is the new Animal Control and Bylaw Enforcement Officer.
Palson says the public is encouraged to report any animal complaints.
