The Ministry of Natural Resources is spending $4.5-million on a new fire centre in Pickle Lake.
Construction of the staff quarters is scheduled to start next month and be completed by June 2008.
The building will replace the existing 60-year-old facility and will feature sleeping quarters, kitchen and dining facilities and a common room for 30-seasonal firefighting staff and 12-aerial operation and support
staff.
