New Gold’s Rainy River Mine has resumed operations.
The mine was shutdown for a mandatory 14 days to honour federal and provincial guidelines.
The company says a significant portion of their local workforce travelled outside of the country, resulting in COVID-19 self-isolation.
New Gold says operations will steadily ramp-up over the coming weeks.
The Rainy River Mine says management will continue to work with surrounding Indigenous and local communities to help reduce the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
