Ontario’s new Minister of Health has hit the ground running.
Helena Jaczek says the province is promising 5,000 new long term care beds and they are now accepting applications.
Jaczek says she plans to keep an open-door policy in her new portfolio.
The opposition hammered Jaczek in her first day on the job Tuesday, with PC critic Jim Wilson offering his condolences on taking on the challenging portfolio.
She is already facing questions on a shortage of long term care beds and care for seniors.
Jaczek replaces Dr. Eric Hoskins, who is now in charge of Canada’s new Pharmacare program.
