Two new Ignace councillors sworn in

For the first time in three months, Ignace has a full town council.

Two new councillors were sworn in Monday night.

Wayne Minnear and Janet Lett were the two successful candidates appointed by the three existing members of Ignace council.

A total of six people applied for the positions.

In the meantime, a report on Code of Conduct violations against the former mayor of Ingace, another councillor and muncipal staff has been released.

It’s to do with a probe by the town’s Integrity Commissioner that started back in March.

Town council says it will review and analyze the report before formally responding to the recommendations in the coming weeks.
