Some long term stability for Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews at the Dryden Regional Airport.
City Council has approved a new lease agreement extension with Infrastructure Ontario.
Airport Manager Norm Sanders says the facility is home to roughly 50-full time staff and another 150-seasonal staff.
Sanders notes all visiting aircraft that touch down pay user fees and are staying in Dryden for extended periods over the fire season.
The agreement includes more land and will bring in more than $162,000 annually.
That’s an increase of more than $27,000 from the previous agreement.
Infrastructure Ontario has leased property at the Airport since 1978.
