New National Chief Stops in Kenora District

The new National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations has unveiled an Influenza Surveillance Guide for First Nations.
Shawn Atelo was in Whitefish Bay near Kenora Thursday to outline the plan.
Atleo says its important to have teachers keep track of students who become ill with flu like symptoms.
He will be holding a National Summit on H1N1 with the Federal Health Minister next week.
Atleo says he was pleased to see the preparedness and cooperation in the first nation community.
He replaced Phil Fontaine as national chief following an election this past summer.
