After 15 months of searching, Lakehead University in Thunder Bay has named Moira McPherson as their school’s seventh President.
McPherson was recently acting as the Interim President.
Officials say McPherson’s experience and impact in various roles at Lakehead, as well as her deep knowledge of the University and its students are why they asked her to lead the school into the coming years.
McPherson says her big challenge will be dealing with the high costs of running the institution with reduced funding.
She says she is anxious to launch a new strategic plan this month and vows to foster new partnerships.
