New Program To Address High Cancer Rates

A new initiative has been launched aimed at combating rising cancer rates in Canada’s First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities.
The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer is investing more than $10-million to help various health agencies develop strategies specific to aboriginal people.
Officials say cancer rates among some First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have increased at an alarming rate and in some cases surpass those among other Canadians.
