New Provincial Funding Model

The Provincial Government has released its new funding model that
will replace the often criticized Community Reinvestment Fund.
The model is being greeted with mixed reaction because it pays for
downloaded services and policing but fails to cover social programming
costs.
Dryden will see $2.7-million this year and Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says
they have to take a closer look at the package.
Krassilowsky notes for the time being, the money will likely be put into reserves.
One of the upsides is that Dryden was the only Municipality in the
North to receive an additional $463,000 in annual funding.
