The regional commander for the OPP in northwestern Ontario says he has a number of challenges he has to face in his new position.
Darrell Smiley began his new duties last week.
He says the police have to be able to change and adapt to the changing times.
Smiley says the vast geographic area of northwestern Ontario continues to pose technological challenges due to patchy cell service and connectivity issues.
