There are now new rules for those energy retailers who often go door-to-door.
Retailers now have to give price comparisons with rates charged by local utilities, which are set by the energy board and adjusted every six months.
People also get several chances to cancel long-term energy
contracts without penalty, even after receiving their first bill.
The rules came after the government was flooded with more than
100 complaints a week about unscrupulous energy retailers.
