New School in Fort Severn First Nation

A big announcement for Fort Severn First Nation.
Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development John Duncan, Chief Matthew Kakekaspan and Kenora MP Greg Rickford announced funding for a new elementary school in the community.
It is part of the Economic Action Plan 2012, and this school is the first school infrastructure announcement so far.
The Chief says it will help support their long term educational success.
Rickford says it will also create employment and training opportunities during the construction phase.
This project is part of the $175 million for new schools and the commitment to education in First Nations.
