The federal government’s committment to first nation education is starting to pay off.
Two new schools are opening this week in remote communities in northwestern Ontario.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford says construction on the schools in Cat Lake and Sandy Lake were completed fairly quickly.
The Cat Lake school opens its doors on Friday.
The Sandy Lake school required some repairs after being damaged in a fire in February 2012.
Rickford says the Feds have a great working relationship with first nations.
