Mark Balcaen is the CEO of the Lake if the Woods District Hospital and says area services boards and hospitals are working on a study to see if there are options other than privatizing the program.
He adds they are keeping an open mind to what kind of solutions may be out there.
Balcaen adds he is confident that a solution will be found that works for all parties involved.
Most hospitals in the Kenora Rainy-River district are taking part in the study.
