Nine Forest Fires Reported In Two Days

It’s been an active two days for Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews in northwestern Ontario.

A total of nine fires have sparked and are still burning.

The Ministry says lightning is the main cause and that mixed with the high temperatures, low humidity and windy conditions is expected to result in additional fires over the next couple of days.

The forest fire hazard is currently moderate in the southern portion of the region and high at all points north starting in Sioux Lookout.
