Chief Clarence Louie of Osoyoos will be the key note speaker at the Northern Networks conference.
Louie was first elected as the chief of the Osoyoos Indian band in 1985.
Since then he has advocated for economic development as a means to improve his people’s standard of living.
He was recently named by MacLean’s magazine as one of the “top 50 Canadians to watch.”
Under his leadership, his band became a multi-faceted corporation that owns and manages nine businesses.
In 2006, Louie was presented with the order of British Columbia.
The NNC is a cross-border, multi-national trade event.
The conference is in September.
