No Additional MPP’s Coming For Northern Ontario

The Wynne government wants to increase the number of election ridings in the province to 122.

They’re proposing changes to the system that would align the provincial ridings in southern Ontario with the new federal boundaries to better reflect increases and shifts in population.

There will be no changes to the 11 ridings in northern Ontario.

As well the government is proposing moving the fixed election date from fall to spring to help avoid overlap with federal and municipal elections.
