No Fatalities During ‘Operation Safe Trucking’

Provincial Police have wrapped up their crackdown on commercial vehicles.

OPP say nearly 2,500 charges were laid during ‘Operation Safe Trucking’.

Officers stopped over 4,200 transports and took 120 unsafe vehicles off the road.

Notable offences included 114 distracted driving charges, 576 for speeding and 75 charges for following too close.

There were no fatalities across Ontario involving tractor-trailer units.
