No Forest Fires Listed As “Out Of Control”

There was only one new forest fire reported on the weekend in northwestern Ontario.

That was a small blaze about 14-kilometres northwest of Red Lake.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are 31 active fires in the region.

One is being held, six are under control, while 24 are being observed.

The fire hazard is mainly low to moderate with areas of high to extreme along the Manitoba boundary.

A day time burning ban is still in place.
