No Hearing For Kenora Justice Of The Peace

The Justice of the Peace Review Council says it will not be holding a hearing for a Kenora Justice of the Peace after all.

The hearing was supposed to take place the week of January 22nd for Robert McNally.

McNally allegedly made demeaning, disparaging and racist comments towards a female, aboriginal lawyer during a case in September of 2017.

However, this week, the Review Council say it has received a letter from McNally saying he plans to retire as of December 31st.

In a ruling on its website, the Council says once he retires, they no longer have any jurisdiction over him.

McNally has not been hearing cases since October of 2017, but continues to be paid by the province.
