It should be a smooth transition into a new forest fire season for Ministry of Natural Resources staff and firefighters.
Regional fire response coordinator Darren McLarty says they are entering year number two under their new fire strategy and there are no major changes.
McLarty notes there’s no change in crew and equipment levels this year.
Aircraft operations are also the same.
McLarty says there are some small changes in policies and documents as well as succession planning for new senior level employees.
