No More Cellphones In The Classroom

If you are a teen that is attached to your phone, be ready for some changes.

The provincial government is now restricting the use of cellphones and other personal mobile devices in classrooms.

The changes will come into effect on November 4th.

The restriction applies to instructional time at school, however, exceptions will be made if cellphones are required for health and medical purposes, to support special education needs, or for educational purposes as directed by a teacher.

97% of parents, students and teachers who were consulted last Fall indicated that cellphone use should be restricted in some way.

Government officials stress students should be focused on their studies, not their social media.
