The Kenora District Services Board is trying to limit the expansion of
commercial childcare centres.
The Board has agreed to no longer free up public funds for private-big
box childcare operations.
Director of Childcare Diane Apland says the 2-existing private centres in Kenora will not be impacted.
Apland says they will continue to be given equal consideration for
funding as long as they remain under their current ownership and meet the
conditions of their legal agreements.
