No Plans To Ban Cell Phones In Classrooms

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has no plans on revisiting its policy on the use of cell phones in classrooms.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has passed a resolution calling for an end of cell phones in classrooms.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says teachers use smart phones as an effective teaching tool.
Monteith says the Board has had ongoing discussions with staff about the use of cell phones and electronic devices and notes no concerns have been raised.
He notes if it becomes an issue, then they will revisit the issue.
