As the month of July winds down, the number of wild fires in northwestern Ontario is starting to rise.
Yesterday, there were another eight forest fires reported
in the region, all caused by lightning.
Fire Information Officer, Travis Moffatt says even though the weather forecast calls for the hot, dry weather to continue, they aren’t looking to implement a restricted fire zone just yet.

Moffatt says all of yesterday’s new forest fires were fairly small, with only one growing to more than three
hectares in size.
