No Strike!

Confederation and other Ontario Colleges will open tomorrow.

A tentative 2 year deal has been reached between the Colleges and its faculty and staff.

The move averts a midnight strike deadline by some 8,000 teachers, librarians and others.

OPSEU Official Ted Montgomery says both sides worked steadily for the last 2 days to hammer out the issues.

He says the agreement means the overall salary increase for faculty will be about 7.5 per cent over 2 years.

That means it will be business as usual at Confederation College Campuses across Northwestern Ontario.

President Pat Lang says there are 4,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students currently enrolled.
