No Turnout for Budget Meeting

The City of Dryden is raising taxes by 15%!!!
OK…that’s not really true, but if Council and Staff made that decision Thursday night, no one would have opposed it.
The public meeting on the 2010 City of Dryden Budget was only attended by Staff and Media.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says there’s always time to comment on the fiscal document.
Hoogenboom notes residents can submit their suggestions by mail or contact City Hall.
He adds the City will likely look at new ways of gathering public input.
Treasurer Linda McNaughton warned Council Thursday that the City is facing numerous challenges.
She stated a one time loss of $1.1-million in a tax appeal case is one barrier the City is facing.
