The Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce has a new president.
Michael Nitz was elected at the spring Annual General Meeting held this past weekend in Dryden.
Nitz has served as past president of the Nipigon Chamber of Commerce and is the Thunder Bay representative on NOACC.
He’s also the past Chair of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Nitz says a big focus for him is getting more people involved.
He says it’s his goal to reach 2,000 members, which amounts to a 5% increase year over year.
Nitz says another priority for him is connecting all Chambers in the Northwest and making sure they are coming to the table and providing input.
He adds he’s excited about bringing northern concerns to the provincial level.
Nitz replaces Andy Scribilo from Kenora, who held the position for two-years.
