Noel responds to Integrity Commission investigations

A member of Dryden city council is responding after three Integrity Commissioner reports released this week, found he did not violate the council code of conduct.

Ritch Noel says he has been the subject of seven or eight Integrity Commissioner investigations altogether and each has found he did not contravene the code of conduct.

He says part of that process of being an elected official involves holding senior staff accountable when the need to do so is present and he takes that obligation seriously.

He adds that the mayor and the CAO of the city should accept that as an elected official he will continue to hold them to task.

Here is his statement in full:

“It is the responsibility of elected officials to represent those who elected them and I take that obligation seriously.  Part of that process involves holding senior staff accountable when the need to do so is present.  There have been several other Integrity Commissioner reports that have determined that I have not violated the code of conduct. Mayor Harrison and Mr. Nesbitt should accept that as an elected official, I will continue to hold them to task and look forward to seeing our differences resolved.”
