NOMA Asked To Help Vets Save Regional Office

Veterans and members of the Public Service Alliance will be speaking to the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association today.
They’re pushing for support to help keep the Federal Government from closing the regional Veterans Affairs Office.
World War II Veteran Roy Lamore says the move is going to mean hardships for veterans.
Lamore says the next office is 500-miles away and veterans can’t afford to make that trip.
He adds vets would rather speak to someone in person, rather then deal with someone on the phone.
Lamore calls the move “disrespectful” and notes the government is “picking on veterans.”
NOMA is considering a motion opposing the office closure in Thunder Bay and another eight across Canada.
