Northwestern Ontario’s Municipal Association is welcoming the Province’s Industrial Electricity Incentive Program.
The new rate will amount to about 5.5-cents per kilowatt hour for large industries looking to expand or set up shop in the region.
Vice-President Dave Canfield says this is something they’ve been asking for, for years.
Canfield says we already have a surplus of hydro, so why not use it.
Canfield notes this program will go a long way to help emerging and existing businesses in the Northwest.
