That will be top of mind the next couple of days as the President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association meets with the Premier in Toronto.
Wendy Landry says there is still a need for enhanced bus service, ensuring residents can easily travel for work, leisure or medical appointments.
Landry wants a greater say in long term transportation plans, noting they have the expertise here at home to identify what the actual needs are.
She is also asking for a government commitment of certain subsidies for carriers to offset fees.
