Municipalities across northwestern Ontario are being asked to cough up extra money to hire a lobbyist to convince the provincial government to do more to help the lumber industry.
Michael Power is president of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association and says yesterday’s announcement by the Minister of Natural Resources, doesn’t do enough to help the ailing forest industry.
Power, says so far they have good support for their lobbying effort.

Power says their goal is to raise 83 thousand dollars to hire a lobbyist.
NOMA will also be sharing costs with the Ontario Forest Industry Association and the Ontario Forest Council.
