Nora Violet Mackie
1915-2011
Nora has passed away at the age of 96 at her residence at Princess Court on Oct 4th, 2011. Nora was predeceased by her husband Fred Mackie, son Rae Robinson, daughter Lila Russell and great grandchildren Rhawnie, Jarra and Kyle Obie.
Nora will be lovingly missed by her children Louise (Peter) Robinson of North Bay, Albert (Bev) Mackie and Florence LaPointe (Roy Dahl) of Dryden, son-in-law Henry Russell, daughter-in-law June Robinson and her grandchildren, David, Rael, Lin Cindy, Norine, Garry, Brenda, Debbie, Danny, Joy, Shannon, Michael, Abby, Larry and Teresa. Nora had 26 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren that she adored.
All that knew Nora were touched by her gentle nature, soft voice, infectious giggle and concern for her family. Nora could always find the good in everyone. In her early years her favorite past times were making jam, fishing, picking berries, crocheting and crafts. In her later years she enjoyed cooking at The Go-getters, reading, playing cards, bingo, bus trips and having lunches at the Riverview Lodge with family and friends
She loved to spend time with her lifelong friends Alice Young, Dorothy Krieger, Dorothy Pollard, Lil Callaghan and her many card partners.
A memorial funeral service will be held Thursday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Homes with Alice Bloomfield officiating. If friends and family wish they may make a donation to the Dryden Breast Cancer Group or a charity of their choice through Stevens Funeral Homes P.O. Box 412 Dryden ON P8N 2Z1.
