NORA Officials To Meet With Province

The City of Dryden will ask the Provincial Government to become involved in recycling services in the region.
The Northwest Ontario Recycle Association will join the city as they try and find a way to operate without adding to its ever growing debt.
Officials will meet with the Provincial Government later today.
A total of 10-municipalities in the region have indicated they are pulling out of NORA including Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Kenora.
Recently, the organization raised per capita levies by 70-percent because of a debt of more than 600-thousand dollars.
Meantime, The City of Dryden who has taken over as coordinator of NORA is moving forward despite the difficult times.
The City says recycling service is up and running and they have recently hired Dryden native Mel Fisher to look after the operation of the plant.
