The Thunder Bay North Stars have moved up three points on the Dryden GM Ice Dogs for first in the SIJHL.
Nicholas Nigro scored twice and added an assist as the North Stars ended the Fort Frances Lakers five game winning streak with a 5-3 win Wednesday night.
Thunder Bay has played three more games than Dryden GM.
Meantime, the Thief River Falls Norskies won the latest battle of Minnesota 5-1 over the struggling Iron Rangers.
Alec Daman had two goals and an assist for the Norskies.
