Northern Cancer Fund Investing In Dryden And S.L.

The Dryden Regional Health Centre has received $50,000 from the Northern Cancer Fund of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
The money will be used to purchase new endoscopy equipment for colorectal cancer screening.
Dryden Hospital General Surgeon Dr. George Rabbat says the equipment will help reduce mortality rates.
Rabbat says the endoscopy equipment requires constant upgrading and notes its a costly venture.
He notes they require continuous financial support to maintain the service.
Rabbat notes they serve roughly 15,000 people and colorectal cancer screening is on the rise across the Dryden area.
The Foundation has also announced $9,500 in funding for a new triple channel IV pump in the safe delivery of chemotherapy to patients at the Sioux Lookout Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre.
