The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has decided to close
Northern Eagle High School in Ear Falls.
The school has an enrolment of about 50-students from remote First
Nation communities and the last class will be this June.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says the foundation is crumbling
and the building is beyond repair.
n021 runs: 15 sec. out…the program.
Carrie says they are working with the Northern Nishnawbe Education
Council on drafting an action plan.
Options include setting up temporary buildings on site or moving the
program to another community.
